How are you experiencing the lockdown?
Surprisingly, I'm experiencing it quite well. I'm taking advantage of the time I don't usually have at home. I don't have a green thumb, but now I've started planting cacti, banana trees, flowers, and even aromatic herbs, but so far... not many results LOL.
I live in Saline, and the calm is more than pleasant; you can hear nature reclaiming its rights! Solitude isn't really my thing. I love being surrounded by my children and grandchildren, my friends—I miss them all very much. The reunion will be wonderful!
What's your state of mind?
"Uncertainty" is the name I would give to this virus, both for health and for work. We're going to have to be patient, very patient. As an artist, this year will undoubtedly be very difficult when you have rent to pay.
Does this lockdown experience have an impact on your artistic approach?
New ideas are sprouting in the back of my mind, but I first need to finish my current commissions. I've set up my studio in my living room, which allows me to continue. Normally, between the shop and the studio, I never have time for new creations, so now will be the time to do it—I can't wait.
Are you creating during the lockdown? If so, can you tell us about your new works?
I had a special request: an acrylic painting on wood in the shape of the island. It's in progress. It's a change!
