Can you tell us more about your concrete experience of the lockdown ?

In Saint Barth, living with my family, an open and airy house with a view of the sea. Complaining about these conditions would be indecent in the light of what many people live elsewhere in France and around the world. No one around me has been infected, we don't go out or just go shopping for food. I feel like spending my life cooking. For the past few days, I've been trying to convince myself not to self-cut my hair. For the moment, it is ok.

What is your personal state of mind ?

Variable state of mind depending on the time of day:

- nervousness about the way the French government manages the situation

- frustration of not being able to take photos with the superb weather we have had for six weeks

- optimism about the "flattening of the curve" according to the fashionable expression and the few / no cases officially listed on the island

- worry for the future: tourism, art market, growing inequality ...

- optimism again because… well…. there is no choice

Does the lockdown experience have an impact on your art ?

A photographer always-sometimes-often tries to take the photo that has never been taken, to find the idea that does not yet exist. It’s a kind of Grail. An idea may arise, it seems great at the time, not so terrible after a while. Or the reverse: an idea matures quietly, until it appears as evidence. I’m trying to think about it. In architectural photos and mainly in portraits.

As there is a lot of talk at the moment, I too have tried the "refocusing your energies, returning to Earth, philosophical-holistic introspection" approach ... frankly: it did not work that well.

Do you practice your art during the lockdown ? if yes, can you tell us about your new pieces ?

Because of the situation, nothing new at the moment but I'm perfecting myself through online training or tests that I do on my side in particular, so as to be ready as soon as the context will allow it.
