This painting of the gardener, inspired by a real gardener from Saint-Barthélemy, is also part of this denunciation of the current condition of rhinoceroses, one of Christian Fahrner's favorite animals. It is represented in a different color, a mauve blue, and surrounded by numerous flowers in imaginary colors: red and blue hibiscus, blue frangipani and white passionflower. A lucky beetle, a butterfly and an African bird complete the picture. The terrestrial globe, centered on Africa, appears in the more structured background than in the first paintings of the series.

Le tableau du jardinier, inspiré d’un véritable jardinier de Saint-Barthélemy, s’inscrit lui aussi dans cette dénonciation de la condition actuelle des rhinocéros, l’un des animaux fétiches de Christian Fahrner. Il est représenté dans une couleur différente, un bleu mauve, et entouré de nombreuses fleurs aux couleurs imaginaires : hibiscus rouge et bleu, frangipanier bleu et passiflore blanc. Un scarabée porte-bonheur, un papillon et un oiseau d’Afrique complètent le tableau. Le globe terrestre, centré sur l’Afrique, figure dans l’arrière plan plus structuré que dans les premièrs tableaux de la série.
