How are you experiencing the lockdown?

At first, it was difficult for me to be confined, but this experience is ultimately also an introspection allowing me to re-evaluate priorities in our lives. I became even more aware of how essential freedom is to me. I went through different stages, the fear of the unknown of this virus and the bad news coming from the rest of the world. I was deeply moved by the testimonies of caregivers and their sacrifices on the front lines to save our lives. Very worried for my loved ones, by chance my parents stayed here while they were visiting me.

We lost a loved one, my uncle and friends became seriously ill. It was like a bad dream, then I took refuge in my other artistic passion which is music and that soothed me a lot.

I missed the sea and nature, and during our daily hour of outdoor exercise, I encountered many goats. I love goats! And turtles going about their business… It was reassuring to see that in nature nothing had changed… I took a few snapshots of this splendid nature that surrounds us in Saint Barth.

What is your state of mind?

I am much more serene today; I hope for everyone that this virus will soon be nothing more than a very bad memory, but it seems to me that we must remain very careful, and I live day by day. We are very lucky to be in Saint Barth and in good health.

Does this lockdown experience have an impact on your artistic approach?

I had creative ideas for a new series, then I thought I don't know if I'll do it, it's so dramatic and such a shock for the world. There's a before and after COVID, and I don't know if everything will go back to how it was before, everything seems unreal...

But perhaps later, when all this has calmed down, I will create this series… for now, I live in the present, day by day… it’s difficult to project myself.
