Turquoise
By Pierre Carreau
In his Turquoise series, Pierre Carreau photographs the Caribbean ocean. Having lived in Saint Barthélemy, he has spent years studying how tropical light transforms the colour, texture and mood of water moment by moment. Turquoise becomes his carefully chosen lens for exploring this relationship between light and fluidity.
His images look like drone shots, but come from a time when they did not exist. Many hours were spent carrying a tripod on his back, finding the perfect view points in the mountains of Saint Barthélemy. The result is sharp, high quality images with a remarkable level of detail.
